Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Bathrobe Company Singapore, a division of Caruso Consulting Co Ltd ("we", "us" or "our"), handles personal data when you visit bathrobe.asia or buy from us. We handle it under Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (PDPA).

What we collect

When you order: your name, email address, phone number, and delivery and billing address, plus what you bought and what you paid.
When you pay: your card details go straight to Stripe, or you pay inside PayPal. We receive confirmation of payment, not your full card number.
When you write to us or use a form: what you send us, and your contact details so we can reply.
When you browse: if you accept analytics cookies, Google Analytics records pages viewed, the device and browser you use, and roughly where you are. Your basket is kept in your own browser's storage.

Why we use it

to take payment for your order, ship it and send you order and tracking emails;
to answer your questions and handle returns and complaints;
to understand how the site is used, if you have agreed to analytics cookies;
to prevent fraud and keep records the law requires us to keep.

We only send marketing emails if you have agreed to them, and every one has a way to unsubscribe.

Who we share it with

We share personal data only with the service providers that run the shop for us, and only what each one needs:

Stripe and PayPal, to take payment;
the supplier and courier who pack and deliver your order;
our email service, to send order confirmations and replies;
our order database and website hosting providers;
Google, for analytics, if you accept analytics cookies;
the provider of the chat assistant on our pages, if you use it.

Some of these providers store or process personal data outside Singapore. Where they do, we take steps to make sure it receives a standard of protection comparable to the PDPA, as the Act requires for overseas transfers. We do not sell personal data.

How long we keep it

We keep order records for as long as we need them for the order, returns and warranty questions, and for the accounting and tax periods the law requires us to keep. After that we delete or anonymise them.

Your choices and rights

You can ask to see the personal data we hold about you, and ask us to correct it.
You can withdraw your consent to marketing or analytics at any time. Use the "Cookie settings" link in the footer for cookies.
You can ask us to delete data we no longer need to keep.

Email theteam@bathrobe.asia to do any of these, and we will reply within 30 days.

If you are not happy with how we have handled your personal data, tell us first and we will try to put it right. If we cannot, you can complain to the Personal Data Protection Commission (PDPC) at pdpc.gov.sg.

Keeping it safe

Checkout runs over an encrypted connection, payment details are handled by Stripe and PayPal, and access to order records is limited to the people who need it. No method of sending information over the internet is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect what you give us.

Children

The shop is meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16. If you think a child has given us data, email us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, the new version goes on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
